YMCA Black Country Group held another successful Sleep Easy over the weekend (Friday 6th March) with more than 40 local people spending the night sleeping rough at the University of Wolverhampton, to raise money for homeless young people.

Participants constructed their cardboard homes for the evening then filled their bellies with hot jacket potatoes before wrapping up and snuggling down in an attempt to get some sleep. Those taking part included staff and volunteers from YMCA, in addition to representatives from local businesses and organisations such as BPN Arcitechts, JobChange and CRI Dudley.

We uploaded some photos to our facebook page:

So far, YMCA has managed to raise over £3,000 online with cash donations still coming in! Every penny of the money raised at Sleep Easy goes into YMCA’s Moving Forward Fund to enable the young people YMCA works with to move on in their lives by providing not only the practical things that make a house a home but also accessing employment and training opportunities, even helping them to move on emotionally.

We’re still accepting donations via their Virgin Money Giving page
