Funded through the Vision 2030 Community Grants, our cycling project is aimed at individuals living in Sandwell aged 16yrs and above.

The aim of the programme is to:

  • Increase physical activity levels
  • Have a positive impact on mental and physical health
  • Learn new cycling skills and safety
  • Reduce loneliness and isolation
  • Improved social networks
  • Encouraging cycling to support the environment

Participants do not need to be regular or confident bike riders but do need to know how to balance on and ride a bike.

Cycling sessions will take place on a weekly basis and delivered from YMCA Western Gateway, 38 Carters Green, West Bromwich, B70 9LG

All rides are led by a YMCA staff member as a lead rider and supported by volunteer(s). To attend participants must book in advance. Don’t have a bike? Don’t worry! Participants can request and sign out one of ours on the day.

Please contact the team in advance to discuss the requirements of signing out a YMCA bike. There is a limited number of bikes available so they must be booked in advance to avoid disappointment.
