The Glebe Centre

The Glebe Centre is a multifunctional hub from where a variety of services are delivered that serve vulnerable adults in Walsall. Our skilled and friendly staff and volunteers work with a variety of individuals with differing needs.

We are currently seeking volunteers to fill the following roles:

  • Activities & Events Co-ordinator
  • Administration Assistant
  • Housekeeping
  • Kitchen Assistant
  • Life Skills Support
  • Project Assistant
  • Receptionist
  • Stock Control
  • Peer Support

Wren's Nest Navigators

The Wren’s Nest Navigator project funded by the National Lottery Reaching Communities fund will provide targeted interventions with individuals and families within Wren’s Nest.

This volunteer led project will be a combination of buddying, mentoring, face to face and online activities and support, all session activity will be co-produced with individuals and local partners. Volunteers will be provided with a robust training and support package and supported by highly skilled staff.

Y's Girls

Y’s Girls Mentoring is a community led mentoring initiative facilitated by YMCA Black Country Group throughout the Black Country. The focus of the programme is for Volunteer Mentors to work with girls aged 9 – 14 years to inspire them and to support them to thrive.

All our volunteers will be given a full induction onto the organisation, receive training as necessary, and be fully supported by a clear line management structure. This ongoing support is a very important aspect for many of our volunteers as meaningful and valuable work needs to be delegated and overseen.
