Plans have been submitted for a landmark building in West Bromwich owned by the YMCA for almost half a century to be completely refurbished and upgraded. The development, which is due to take place on the YMCA’s Carters Green site is awaiting planning consent, which will give the green light to the project.

Plans include a fully equipped and spacious gym to replace the current studio which has provided a high quality fitness facility over the years, but is rapidly being outgrown, as demand for a friendly community-style fitness facility has grown over time.

Built in the 1960’s, the studio flats have been improved and remodelled over time, but are now due a complete overhaul. The plans include improved space, as well as state of the art services and facilities throughout.

The plans also include a number of business start-up units on site, which will provide would-be entrepreneurs the opportunity to have a well-designed work space to operate their fledgling business out of.

To bring in the local community other services planned onsite will include high quality meeting rooms, Café and a fully equipped training kitchen.
