Man taking part in YMCA sleep easy event

28 November 2022

Sleep Easy is a fundraising challenge event asking you to spend one night sleeping rough, all to raise vital funds to help tackle the root causes of youth homelessness.

YMCAs across the country will be sleeping out on the same night in order to raise awareness of the issue.

Registration is now open to take part in next year’s event in the Black Country, which will be held in Merry Hill Car Park on Friday 10th March.

Participants receive two boxes to create their shelter for the night and although this isn’t a true reflection of how homeless people live, we hope to give an insight into how it feels to not have a safe place to call home. There is also an opportunity to hear from some of YMCA’s residents who have experienced homelessness and learn how our vital work has helped them to belong, contribute and thrive in their community.

100% of all money raised through Sleep Easy goes towards helping our vulnerable young people move forward positively in their lives.

If you would like to take part you can sign up now; if you are a school, college or business looking to join as part of a team or offer sponsorship, please contact grace.maddocks@ymcabc.org.uk for more details.
