YMCA Black Country Group has been working in the Black Country since 1888 and would like to invite local people to help them celebrate their 125th birthday!

YMCA will be hosting a birthday party at our Carters Green site in West Bromwich on Saturday 22nd June. Like any party, there’ll be plenty of jelly & ice cream, cakes and fun activities for the whole family, including Cake Decorating, Emergency Services Demonstrations and a chance to have a go at one of the sports invented by the YMCA in a 3-on-3 basketball tournament!

Jon Row, Joint Chair of YMCA Black Country Group said, “The journey we have taken over the last 125 years is spectacular! We started back in 1888 on St Michael’s Street, West Bromwich, now we have sites right across the Black Country offering a wide variety of services to the communities we serve; to see how we’ve grown is inspiring and we want to share this with the people of the Black Country.”

YMCA President, Eric Moore who has been a member of the YMCA for over 60 years said, “This event will not only be a great opportunity for the people of the Black Country to join us in celebrating the last 125 years, but also to help us invest in the future of the YMCA through our new redevelopment. Building work is due to start, in June and we would like local people to see our plans for the building and the work we plan to offer Black Country wide.”

YMCA’s Birthday Party will run from 11am – 3pm, no RSVP necessary, just turn up and be ready to have fun! More details will be announced on our facebook page as they are confirmed facebook.com/YMCABlackCountryGroup.
