Dedication to Early Years Education Shines Through with Exceptional OFSTED results

25 August 2023

YMCA Black Country Group is thrilled to announce the attainment of two exceptional OFSTED results across its esteemed network of nurseries. After taking over the nursery during the COVID-19 pandemic, YMCA achieved a “GOOD” result at Hayes Lane Nursery in Stourbridge, with YMCA Greets Green Day Nursery in West Bromwich received an Outstanding result the following week.

“We are thrilled with the OFSTED results achieved by our YMCA Black Country Nurseries,” said Steve Bavington, CEO of YMCA Black Country Group. “These achievements are down to a dedicated and hard-working staff team, who show care and compassion in their work every day. These are the values we live by, so to read the report and have it echoed back to us from a third party, makes me incredibly proud.”

These exceptional outcomes are testament to the charity’s unwavering commitment to providing top-tier early years education and holistic development opportunities to the local community.

Conducted across multiple nursery locations, the OFSTED inspection reports celebrated the YMCA Black Country Nurseries’ dedication to fostering an environment that encourages curiosity, growth, and inclusivity. The Outstanding rating reflects the collective efforts of the nurturing staff who consistently demonstrate their understanding that each child matters. In particular, the reportshighlighted the nurseries’ exceptional care practices, which allows children in YMCA’s care to “flourish”.

YMCA Black Country Group remains focussed on their mission of empowering children and families through exceptional early childhood education. These Good and Outstanding nursery result serve as a testament to the Group’s leadership in providing high-quality care and education that supports children’s holistic development.

Mel Braden, Executive Head of Childcare and Quality said “With our bespoke curriculum which was written by the team last year, fully embedded across all settings and plans to add to our network of nurseries in the coming months, it’s an exciting time to be a part of YMCA’s Early Years team in the Black Country. We’re looking forward to continuing our journey of excellence, creating a space where children thrive, grow, and develop a love for learning.”
