This week’s devotional comes from our Steve Lee, CFO, as he shares his thoughts about what our value of HOPE means to him.
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not grow faint. (Isaiah 40:31)
Christian hope is certain, a confidence that what has been promised will come true. My hope is in Jesus, because He is faithful, reliable, trustworthy and He has ultimately paid the price for my soul via His death on the cross. When I became a Christian, I was encouraged that I can have hope for eternity and that the current challenges or struggles I face seem more bearable knowing I’m living in the light of eternity.
I see hope in YMCA Board meetings when trustees share their vision of what could be. I see hope in the stories of changed lives of past residents. I see hope at the start of each new day when I’m reminded to thank God for the sound of birdsong, a glorious sunrise and the beauty of creation around me!

When Jesus rose from the dead, this created new and living hope, because death isn’t the end anymore and I need no longer fear it. I’m filled with hope that the best is yet to come!
Point to ponder: What might our lives look like if we live in hope each day? What is it you hope Jesus could do for you today?
