  • Health & Wellbeing Assessments

    A one-to-one assessment which includes a physical health MOT, lifestyle questionnaire and goal setting to help you achieve your aims and take your first steps to leading a healthier lifestyle.

     

    Cook & Eat Programmes

    Learn how to cook healthy food on a budget, understand portion sizes and the value of eating nutritional foods.

     

    Mental Wellbeing Activities

    Access a variety of health and wellbeing activities including relaxation and mental health workshops.

    Our Relaxation Workshops will provide you with strategies to deal with the stresses of everyday life. Each workshop is designed to replenish your wellbeing and we will cover: Breathing Techniques; Reflexology; Take Time for Yourself (natural pamper); and Take Notice (based on mindfulness practices).

    Our Mental Health & Wellbeing Workshops will provide you with a better understanding of mental ill-health, and to provide coping strategies to deal with mental ill-health. The workshops are: Coping with Anxiety; Living with Depression; Dealing with Stress; and Building Self-Esteem and Confidence. Each topic is done in two parts; the first to get a better understanding of the illness and an introduction to coping strategies and the second to explore other coping strategies. We recommend that you attend both parts to get the most benefit from the workshops.

     

    Fitness Classes

    Access a variety of fitness classes at local community venues to improve your fitness levels and overall wellbeing.

    Yoga:

    Our yoga class is perfect for beginners looking to improve their strength and flexibility, as well as to unwind and relax. Our qualified instructor tailors the session to suit all abilities and allows 10 minutes of each class for relaxation. Yoga mats are included in the cost of the class but you are welcome to bring your own. Please wear comfortable loose-fitted clothing which allow you to stretch and bring something warm to put on for the relaxation. You may also want to bring a bottle of water with you.

     

    Zumba:

    If you are looking for a fun and relaxed way to exercise then Zumba is for you – come along and have a dance to great music with like-minded people. Our experienced instructor creates fun and dynamic routines that are suitable for all abilities. Please wear comfortable clothing and trainers, and please bring a bottle of water with you.

     

    Learning & Skills Support

    We understand that being healthy in body, mind and spirit can help you to find the job that suits you. Therefore, as part of our package of support we will help you to improve your employability by offering a tailored action plan to work towards improving your job prospects. You can get support to look for work, courses or training opportunities; CV writing; application forms; and interview techniques in order for you to have the best opportunity of being able to secure the job you want.

     

    Volunteering Opportunities

    Access a range of volunteering opportunities within the health and wellbeing sector from mental health champions, cooking facilitators, sports coaching and lifestyle coaching. We will support you to develop your skills and experience to increase your likelihood of sustaining work.
