26th September 2017

As and when required | Various Locations throughout the Black Country

We are looking for volunteer drivers to transport young people to their night stop placements, placing homeless young people and care leavers with Host families in the community. The volunteer driver will meet the guest at the pre-arranged place, drive them to the volunteer host’s home, introduce them to their host then call the service to confirm that the guest has arrived safely.

As a volunteer driver, you will have your own car and appropriate business insurance to transport young people. You will also have a basic understanding of the issues people face, and an ability to relate to people on a one to one, non-judgmental basis. Additionally, you will have a desire to work with disadvantaged people and a willingness to participate in training and be involved in consultation regarding the role.

The successful applicant must be able to respect the Christian Ethos of the YMCA BCG and uphold its values. A standard DBS will be required before taking up the role.
