HSL30- Homelessness Prevention Officer

37.5 hours per week| £19,930 per annum | Location- West Bromwich

We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our innovative Supported Lodgings and Nightstop Service which places homeless young people and care leavers with Host families in the community.


Duties for the successful candidate will include but won’t be limited to;

  • Receiving and allocating referrals for the emergency Nightstop provision of accommodation, ensuring the safe placement of referrals.
  • Match and place successful referrals with appropriate Host households.
  • Support and supervise Hosts in the delivery of the Nightstop service
  • Liaise with the referral agencies to ensure regular contact and signpost to local services.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, innovative and have a flexible approach to a wide variety of tasks. The post holder will have knowledge of working with vulnerable young people.  They will also be able to assist in the publicity and administration of the scheme as well as providing cover where necessary for other roles within the YMCA Open Door team.
