HGL08 – Weekend Concierge

12 hours per week | National Minimum Wage | Green Lane, Walsall | Permanent

We are looking to appoint a motivated and committed individual to join our supported housing team in Walsall. The post holder will provide an effective and professional service to young tenants within our supported housing services, including dealing with enquiries, communicating messages, collecting service charges, conducting and health and safety checks, cleaning communal areas and void rooms ready for occupation and maintaining professional boundaries at all times.

The ideal candidate will be able to make decisions in relation to rules and regulations without supervision, have the ability to co-operate and work together to build team effectiveness, have good verbal and written communication skills including the ability to produce clear, accurate and concise reports and good interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop a relationship of trust with residents and encourage and motivate them.

The ability to work on their own initiative is essential.

LSD68 – Glebe Centre Cook

25 hours per week | £8.21 per hour | Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2020 | The Glebe Centre, Walsall

YMCA Black Country Group is seeking to appoint a Cook to join their team providing support to vulnerable adults in Walsall.

We are looking for an organised, skilled and committed individual with experience of working in an environment that serves the public. You will be required to plan, organise and manage the daily catering arrangements, including stock control and rotation, for service users who access day centre provision delivered by YMCA. You will have experience of preparing, cooking and serving meals and will have solid understanding of food hygiene standards and requirements.

As this role involves the provision of food services for vulnerable adults, a minimum Level 2 in Food Hygiene Certificate, and a proven track record of the application of the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point approach, is required.

The applicant must complete an enhanced DBS check before taking up the role.

Volunteer Drivers and Befrienders Required

Volunteer Drivers/Befrienders – YMCA Open Door Project As and when required | To work from home on a call out basis

We are looking for volunteer drivers/ Befrienders to support young people who are in Emergency Night stop accommodation. This may involve transporting them to or from their Night stop Placement or supporting them during the day time or while they are waiting to go to their Night stop placement.

 

In the case of volunteer drivers you will be ensuring that the young person is transported safely and offering appropriate support. You will have your own car and appropriate business insurance to transport young people.

 

For Volunteer Befrienders you will be offering support as agreed with the Night Stop Officer.

 

For both Roles you must be able to relate well to young people with good interpersonal skills. You will also have a basic understanding of the issues people face, and an ability to relate to people on a one to one, non-judgmental basis. Additionally, you will have a desire to work with disadvantaged people and a willingness to participate in training and be involved in consultation regarding the role.

 

The successful applicant must be able to respect the Christian Ethos of the YMCA BCG and uphold its values. A standard DBS will be required before taking up the role.
