LSD84 – Night Shelter Workers

37.5 hours per week|£8.72 per hour |Fixed Term until March 2020 | Darwall Street, Walsall

YMCA Black Country Group is seeking to appoint Night Shelter Workers to work with service users accessing Walsall Night Shelter services, which will be located in Walsall.

We are looking for individuals who have a real heart and passion for supporting vulnerable adults with complex needs and who may also be rough sleepers.

This role will require resilience and confidence to work with men and women from differing backgrounds with an ability to work as part of a team.

The post holders must have experience of providing advice/support and interventions to vulnerable adults with alcohol and drug problems and of conducting assessments and developing client support pathways.

The post holders will provide an effective and professional service to service users and support a team of nightly volunteers, liaise with other agencies and know how to deal with enquiries, communicate messages, and carry out building and service user’s risk assessments.

NCT28 – Nursery Apprentice

37.5 hours per week │£3.90 per hour│12 Months Fixed Contract │ City Tots Nursery Wolverhampton

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Early Years Apprentice at our 57 place setting based at the YMCA City Tots Nursery at Wolverhampton, who will predominately be on a rotating shift between 8:00am and 6:00pm, however this may change dependant on the operational needs of the Nursery.

You’ll be motivated and passionate about working with children and their families, and strive to provide a safe and stimulating learning environment for children to grow and develop.

A training provider is not a necessity, as this can be out sourced for the successful applicant. The organisation is also happy to facilitate training with any existing training providers.

HSL25 – Supported Lodgings & Nightstop Project Worker

37.5 hours per week| £21,879 per annum| Fixed Term – 6 months | Location- Black Country Wide

We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our innovative Supported Lodgings and Nightstop Service which places homeless young people and care leavers with Host families in the community.  The successful candidate will be self-motivated, innovative and have a flexible approach to a wide variety of tasks.

The post holder will have experience of working with vulnerable young people and will be able to manage a caseload of Supported Lodgings placements.  They will also assist in the publicity and administration of the scheme as well as providing cover where necessary for other roles within the YMCA Open Door team.

Volunteer Drivers and Befrienders Required

Volunteer Drivers/Befrienders – YMCA Open Door Project As and when required | To work from home on a call out basis

We are looking for volunteer drivers/ Befrienders to support young people who are in Emergency Night stop accommodation. This may involve transporting them to or from their Night stop Placement or supporting them during the day time or while they are waiting to go to their Night stop placement.

 

In the case of volunteer drivers you will be ensuring that the young person is transported safely and offering appropriate support. You will have your own car and appropriate business insurance to transport young people.

 

For Volunteer Befrienders you will be offering support as agreed with the Night Stop Officer.

 

For both Roles you must be able to relate well to young people with good interpersonal skills. You will also have a basic understanding of the issues people face, and an ability to relate to people on a one to one, non-judgmental basis. Additionally, you will have a desire to work with disadvantaged people and a willingness to participate in training and be involved in consultation regarding the role.

 

The successful applicant must be able to respect the Christian Ethos of the YMCA BCG and uphold its values. A standard DBS will be required before taking up the role.
