YMCA
Families in Focus
families_in_focusYMCA provides intensive support to families in the Wolverhampton area to tackle deep-rooted and generational problems.

The families we work with have been affected by issues such as; anti social behaviour, intergenerational unemployment, crime, substance misuse, domestic violence, lack of structure and boundaries within homes, involvement with gangs and young people being at risk of exploitation.

Our professional and friendly family team works directly and intensely with families by providing support around parenting skills, helping families develop routine and structure. We also provide advice, guidance, advocacy and peer mentoring for young people of the families, alongside practical support.

We work with the whole family ensuring each member has a voice, in order to strengthen relationships between family members with the use of mediation. We help to build essential life skills and aim to help reduce crime, anti social behaviour within households and support individuals to access appropriate, local services.

Our Family Intervention workers work closely with parents, children and schools to aid improved school attendance and behaviour. We also support parents and their children to access appropriate training, education and employment.
