Our Fundraising Events

We run a number of events through the year that you can get involved in too.

Sleep Easy Sleep Easy

Sleep Easy is a national YMCA campaign which aims for raise awareness of youth homelessness through asking people to get sponsored to spend ONE NIGHT sleeping outside in a cardboard box. Sleep Easy takes place at the beginning of March and  is always in a safe and secure site, with plenty of food, drink and fires to keep participants warm. It gives people a small insight into what it is like to sleep rough, how vulnerable you are to the elements and other people.

We also run Sleep Easy events with schools. Our School Fundraising Pack contains everything you need to know about running an event at your school.

YMCA Pub QuizYMCA Pub Quiz Losers

Our Pub Quiz is organised by our Open Door team and raises money to support that project. It’s a great laid back evening, where people can just come together, have fun and raise money for a great cause. Dates are announced on our Events page.

Where does the money go?

Unless otherwise stated, all the money raised from our events goes into the  Moving Forward Fund. Residents who have been through the YMCA system and are ready to move out and live independantly can apply to the Moving Forward Fund to receive a grant which the can use to  buy essential items such as a bed or a fridge for their new place when they leave the YMCA. Having these items is essential to ensure that our residents move on positively and start building a better future.
